Universal Plate Lifting Clamp ½ to 5t
All Material Handling listens to customers needs and in response recently launched this Universal Plate Lifting Clamp
The Story
2018
All Material Handling has ability to be flexible in accommodating needs and suggestions of our customers says Peter Brettner, AMH president. One such success story is our recent launch of Universal Plate Lifting Clamps. A distributor requested we supply them to replace and enhance the function of several types. We did the market research leading up to specifying the manufacture of our PCUA series product. Part of development was evaluation of pre-production field trial units.
During the trials, it was realized that many were battered and scared from being dragged around and over stacks of plates and other obstacles. To insure identifying markings remained legible we added the requirement they be deep carved into the external metal surfaces. Since release of the PCUA we have realized the need for operation of the grip engagement by a “stick” or rod with hooked end. This type is preferred in some applications allowing the operator to stay clear of the load. Look for this type model to be added in the near future.
In addition to vertical and horizontal lifting, Universal Plate Lifting Clamps allow turning the plate 180 degrees for transfer and positioning. The weight of the plate engages the mechanical jaw which is preloaded by a lever to insure the grip is not lost. The new PCUA series meets EU Directives: 2006/42/EC and ASME B30.20. Each is individually serialized and tested at 2 X WLL (Working Load Limit). A corresponding serialized test certificate is supplied with each unit.
