It is not difficult, do you know how to make a flemish eye without a thimble ? If you do then make it without the thimble in place and before you finish the eye off, slip the thimble into place. You then finish off the eye by hand and when you push the ferrule into place make sure that it is tight before you press it. When you press the ferrule it will expand and push up against the thimble making it nice and tight in the eye.
